Important Aspects Of Dance Parties Regularly Forgotten
The purpose of this site as mentioned is to develop better ways of running dance parties everywhere. Dance parties usually have a lot of environmentally conscious people who enjoy the culture of doof, not just use it as a place to get off chops. We need to try and show the people that abuse the space, that if they don't protect the space we party in, regardless of whether they appreciate or respect the environment we can't continue to run these events.
If we want to try and organise these events legally, we need to employ different methods of maintaining our sites, or in some cases employ any method of maintaining our sites.
Rubbish Management
A simple example and I know it has been mentioned plenty of times by plenty of people, if we organise for people to go around the party picking up rubbish at regular intervals throughout the night, It will make it a lot easier to clean the party up in the morning and it will make the event site a much nicer place to be in.
An incentive you could use to get people to do this, is to refund part or all of the price they paid to get into the event, ie. One bag of rubbish = 1/2 the ticket price back. If planned right, you should have a completely spotless event, with people competing to get to the rubbish.
In the morning when you're packing up, you should bring in a trailer, load all the rubbish onto it and get it all disposed of at the tip.
Human Waste Management
This is another issue that gets over looked, there is just not enough being done in doofs today about this problem, whether you hire port-a-loo's, or just dig shit-pits. I know not everybody uses them but you need to minimise the impact that you have on the environment, the fact of the matter is, you just need toilets.
Fires
The short answer for this is: No, don't have them.
The Long answer is: Alright, have a couple good ones around the main area, but don't let people have their own campsite ones. It's not only a safety concern but a bushfire hazard also, not to mention the authorities will NOT like you very much if they come along and see hundreds of fires lit everywhere.
If you're planning on having a few fires, try to get some of the barrel type ones, they're a lot safer and tend to encourage smaller groups of people around them (and from personal experience seem to be a little more friendly than the bigger fires).
Don't be an idiot, make sure the area is suitable for having a fire, no trees straight up, make sure the wind isn't going to blow smoke all over the place.
Check the Fire Authority to see if there's any Fire Bans for your area, if there is, don't have any fires at all. The last thing you want is your party getting shut down because of a few fires. Click on your state to view the fire bans: NSW, VIC, SA
